Review from Belgade

As we had said [http://chess-problems-gr.blogspot.gr/2016/06/59th-world-congress-of-chess.html], from Saturday 30/07/2016 thru Saturday 06/08/2016, in Belgrade of Serbia was held the World Congress for Chess Composition (WCCC).

It contained OPEN solving contest, World Chess Solving Championship (WCSC) and many Composition Tourneys.

The results are (usually) published in one bulletin pdf file [link?] when they are prepared. Until then, one can find at the official page of the congress [http://wccc2016.matplus.net/index.php] the information which is collected and posted.

The closing ceremony is here : [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNFsm7tQH10].

I would like to say that the Metropol Palace Hotel is excellent, and the personnel of the Serbian organisation committee was very kind and helpful.
Belgrade is a green city with large parks and also a large river Savvas meeting the larger river Danube.
The closing evening party in the river boat was sheer magic.
Here you may see some videos : 1, 2, 3

The awards from all the composition tourneys are not yet known, but we are glad that the Greek Kostas Prentos (USA) continues to collect first prizes and bottles of drinks, (Champagne and Sake tourneys).
Update : There was a Commendation for Manolas Emmanuel (GRE) in the 5 days Tourney, Group A, orthodox two-movers.
